Some photoshoots are like no others and stay imprinted on my mind forever. And such is the case of this 2013 Michigan Christmas shoot. I love it as much to day as I did then and it stills fills me with the nostalgia of simple days. I hope it speaks to you too, especially now when so much innocence is lost in the clutter and clatter of Cyber shopping.

Sometime you meet someone who makes a lasting impression. And so it was when I met Maria Carr of Dreamy Whites fame (https://www.instagram.com/dreamywhiteslifestyle/?hl=en).. It was 10 years ago when we shot her ((then) northern California home for my first book Romantic Prairie Style.
My favorite homes are always those where homeowners have succeeded in making interiors look uniquely personal and welcoming in spite of limited budgets. Case in point: this North Carolina home where, with her artist eye and feminine touch, Cindy Redman brings home the charm of French Country to her small cottage.
Rene’s lovely little Seattle home is not fancy or spacious but it exudes charm and comfort. It is in fact a small apartment that embodies Rene’s decorating ingenuity (on a budget) and her take of French country style, which includes a little romance (of course!) and a touch of shabby.
It has been several months since I moved to beautiful Stonington Borough, the most charming little village only 4 miles away from Mystic, CT and 8 miles from the Rhode Island border. The house I rented is lovely but it came furnished and the rooms were painted in a variety of colors. This post is about how I updated the interior and ‘beautified’ the exterior, hence the before and after photos. Come on in!
