Magazines have been the heartbeat of my work life. It has also been my friend Ki Nassauer’s. So when so many publishers stopped publishing our issues we both had to find another medium to share our love of homes and anything home related.
This week I am sharing and celebrating Ki’s new endeavor: her beautiful digital magazine LIVED-IN STYLE. If you love vintage you will love this colorful, nostalgic, endearing, and informative publication.
Some photoshoots are like no others and stay imprinted on my mind forever. And such is the case of this 2013 Michigan Christmas shoot. I love it as much to day as I did then and it stills fills me with the nostalgia of simple days. I hope it speaks to you too, especially now when so much innocence is lost in the clutter and clatter of Cyber shopping.
In view of the current circumstances it only seems logical to entertain (safely) outdoors, weather permitting. Here are some fun picnic decor and food ideas all can enjoy, even goats and donkeys if you are lucky enough to have one or more of these friendly, affectionate (and hungry) little buddies. Bon appetit!
Another favorite little home is Diana Heard’s California cottage. It has many fine French items married to more rustic ones. Diana’s style is very personal and ever so cozy. Come take a look.
I realize that this post is about promoting SURFSIDE STYLE, my latest book, but it’s also more than just that. It’s about escaping to the peaceful, relaxed and fun lifestyle of living by the water and to virtually getting away from our current reality, even for a moment. The book features 12 very different homes, each with its very own flavor and style inspired by the calm and rhythm of living in harmony with the water. Take a look at this sampling and you might just find the answer to your dream coastal setting. Surfside Style is now available on Amazon. Enjoy!
