You can easily create interesting and beautiful vignettes using your favorite color. Grouping items within the same palette family always create a gorgeous visual impact.
These aqua bottles, blue hydrangeas and a fabulous painting (by Erin Anderson @erinandersonartworks) are a perfect example of a well styled vignette.
White and blue unite in this dining room corner. The close up painting of the horse (also by Erin Anderson) and the barn doors contribute a graphic yet subtle backdrop that enhances the turquoise jars.
In this corner of her living room Amy (@amymaisondecor) incorporated several variations of blue for a look that is both elegant and soothing.
I am partial to white with soft color accents. My own fireplace has been a bit of a chameleon color wise but I always went back to white. When paired with silver accents it took on a low key elegance and a romantic mood. I wish I had kept it when I moved. I am looking for one so if you know of something like it let me know. ( I added the architectural elements to mine). It’s the exact size I need. Thanks
This is an old photo from my Florida cottage bedroom 22 years ago so the quality isn’t very good. However you can see how nicely white and gray work together. Hearts and shells have always been my items of choice but you can use whatever calls out to you!
Mirrors are a great asset to styling but when photographing the area make sure that whatever reflection you see (if any) is suitable. The simple clean lines and organic touches of this space provide a graceful balance.
This classic floor mirror makes an interesting contrast to the brick wall (actually wallpaper) of this modern/eclectic loft. It brings dimension to the space while multiplying the magical effect of the tiny fairy lights and amplifying those hanging from the open living space.
I used a mirror to provide height and light in a corner of my living room. I painted the frame flat gray, though I tried silver but it was too much with the finish of the little dresser. I also already had enough silver in the candlestick, the pitcher and the heart! Sometimes we have to readjust our initial decisions. The thing is that you know when it’s right (or wrong!!)
Creating vignettes with floral elements is always fun and pleasing whether you prefer repetition or a single statement.
Sweet peas against an old door, vintage books topped with a little pig figurine, and armoire with a bottle display…this living room corner is both welcoming and a feast for the eye. Look at the details below.
A single bouquet or multiple displays are equally lovely!
Rustic and farmhouse styles also lend themselves to endearing styling.
Details matter big time…….
